What is a librarian?
According to the Collins Dictionary, a Librarian is a person in charge of, or assisting in, a library. If I had read that definition before I became a librarian, I very much doubt that I would be enjoying the diverse, interesting and challenging career I am today.
Stereotypical Librarian – I don’t think so!
There’s a tremendous opportunity in this field of work to be creative, particularly when working alongside young students. Every person is an information researcher at heart, from booking an annual holiday to buying the latest gadget. This research is crucial when seeking out the best, and is the vital ingredient when making decisions. Every person can do it, but they can do it better with help and guidance from an information professional.

Staying ahead of the game when it comes to current and upcoming gadgets. The students would hate to admit it, but it does give us Library staff a certain element of street cred in their eyes!
